?To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you?. ~ Tony Dorset. Many of us have read a great deal on the subject of success and what it takes to be successful in whatever you intend to be. You will agree with me that there are thousands and thousands of books on success and it?s requirements, after all we all want to be successful in our endevours. I want to humbly contribute by giving a practical experience on the subject. Success does not come without motivation and inspiration. I have never come across a successful person who has no inspiration and motivation.
We are all motivated and inspired by something or someone. The difference is that those who succeed keep the fire burning were as most of you quench the fire even before you get started. Below I have outlined three things that will help improve and keep you motivated. Surely the road to success is definitely not an easy one.
? Self motivation
To become self motivated means to get out of the beaten path, out of the rut, because extraordinary results require extraordinary means. I describe self motivation as the fuel to keeping your dream alive. The more motivated you are the more you keep working and getting closer towards realizing your dream.
To keep yourself motivation high, write down your intended purpose and keep it somewhere you can easily access and read it often. In Napoleon Hills? book ?Think and Grow Rich? he advises that you read it on a daily basis. Just like in a car fuel runs out every now and again and the car needs refueling. Self motivation must be kept alive. Remember it is the fuel to keeping your dream alive.
I have written my intended purpose in life and I keep referring to it on a regular basis. At least 3 or 4 times a week. This way I keep reminding myself of what I should be doing on a daily basis in order that I achieve my purpose.
? What is your goal
Surely success cannot be attained without a goal. I would like to believe that all people who have succeeded have had goals imbibed somewhere. I prefer writing down in black and white cause I believe there is power in writing.
At first your goal may not be as clear as you want it to be, but still write it down anyway. You will notice that along the way you begin to make adjustments to it as you become clearer. Your written down intended purpose is your target and goal. You only make adjustments to the way you are going to achieve it. If your goal for example is to raise $10m in 10 years you must state how you intend to raise this amount of money and start working towards achieving your goal.
The best way to achieving your intended purpose is to be engaged in an activity you enjoy most. This will give you added pleasure and you will be able to produce your very best as you go about your activities. Remember it is easier to do something you enjoy best than what you do not enjoy.
? Be dedicated
My last advice is dedication. How then can you succeed without being dedicated? Goals are achieved through dedication. The time you spend to prepare for an exam will ultimately show when the results are released. Success does not come on a silver plate. There are a lot of sacrifices that are made for you to succeed.
I will goal back to the example of raising $10m in 10 years. If that is your goal you will need to adjust your spending and cut out on all an unnecessary expenditure. You will also need to be dedicated on an activity or activities that will help you raise your money and be faithful to saving on a regular basis. Dedication is no easy task.
Conclusion
Improving your motivation and better still keeping motivated is an important part of success. You cannot be successful without being motivated and inspired. The 3 things outlined above are some of the ways I use to help improve my motivation. I believe that there are many ways that can be used to help improve your motivation and do hope that you enjoyed reading my article and find it helpful. Like I always say ?standout tall and be counted? you deserve it.
